Haruka's Secret 11 - Time To Cowboy Up
Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 02:37PM
We all know what the second to last episode means - drama! As with everything in this show, the drama comes from an obvious source, but they still had to force it on us, more on this later. But first, we have to start with a fairly typical event - a birthday party!

Note the date - I'm sure it will be a trivia question soon
A birthday party needs a birthday present, and if you're shopping for Haruka, there is only one place to go.

All by myyyyyyyself.....don't wanna be....
And there is only person to shop with.

My otaku sense is tingling!
After a successful shopping experience, Yuuto comes away with the latest Clumsy Girl Aki-chan figure. He and Nobunaga then reminisce about their last cooperative shopping trip to Akihabara. As it turns out, all Yuuto remembers is hating it. He doesn't recall giving away one of Nobunaga's books to some random trollop.

Nobunaga use to be gansta
Returning home, Yuuto finds transportation to the party awaiting him much earlier than he planned on heading out.

Never a good sign
The reason for the early departure becomes evident as the party is being held at an indisclosed location.

Keep in mind, we are going from Japan to the Carribean
Here we set the groundwork for the drama, thanks to Mika's introductory tour of the island.

Hope their filled with DVDs...
After seeing the preparations for the party, Yuuto is starting to feel really small.

Uhoh
Awaiting Haruka's presence on the beach, Yuuto pulls off his "such a nice boy" act helping an old man find a fish hook. Nothing will come of this I'm sure.

Next comes 8 minutes of filler, represented by a montage of typical beach scenes.

Finally, it's party time. Before Yuuto can get to his room to prepare, he runs into the manufactured villain of the week.

Ouran Host Club gone bad
At this point, we are presented with the most over the top snob stereotypes I have ever seen. Par for the course, I know, but in the real world, Yuuto would have no problem blowing off these loosers after lines like this.

Thanks for the...concern?
They point out that Yuuto is way out of league, showing off diamond encrusted dresses and accessories only the super elite could offer. Unfortunately, they nail Yuuto's weak spot.

Um, yes?
This causes Yuuto to fear the worse. And what an over the top worse it is!

The horse is a tad much, don't you think?
I can't tell if I really agree with this characterization of Yuuto. For someone who stood up to Haruka's dad, while he was wielding a sword, you would think he could blow off the pooftas. On the other hand, if you took the ridiculous excess of the situation literally, it's no wonder he's feeling just a bit out of place. How will the situation resolve? Yea, I could write the next episode in my sleep too.
