Aoi Hana Ep 1 - Girls Girls Girls!

Summer premieres continue with Aoi Hana, a slice of life anime staring the pair below, Fumi and Akira, or Ai.  And we will call her Ai from now on, otherwise I will always type the name as AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKIRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! from here on in.

Odd couple

This can best be described as slow, as are the want of these heartwarming tales of friendship.  This one revives plot line 32, where the childhood friends, separated and forgotten when one of the moves away, are re-united without even recognizing each other.  This one grabbed me for one odd reason - the art style.

Notice how the train has clean, defined lines while the whole scene looks more like a sketch than an animation cell background.  I'm sure this is lifted from the manga, and creates some odd but interesting scenes as the animated features glide through a watercolor scene.

As for the story, I'm often drawn to the tales of friendships between girls, mostly because chick form tight clicks that no guy will ever be able to understand no matter how many beers they have.  I guess I should also mention that this is listed as a Yuri title.  I don't think I've ever watched a mature yuri title, I'm going to guess they keep those elements to a minimum.

What was that about the opening sequence?  YOWZA!

Keyboard Cat say "Play it Safe!"

And that's  all I have to say about that.
