The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Ep. 5 - Ohhhhhhhh COME ON!

I didn't blog about episode 2 of the new season because it didn't seem like there was much there. Summer memories, slice of life, all pretty cliche stuff before the new school year. I have had my faith restored in Haruhi, however, as we again see nothing is as it seems. As Kyon observes:

First clue - you're in this anime

OK, joke post over.  This is now the third episode in a row of the EXACT SAME EPISODE.  Should I be impressed with the fact that they have made me feel the same as the characters, which is i now DREAD the next runthrough of these two weeks?  That I feel LOST and ANGRY every time I realize what is going on? (ie, that nothing is going to get resolved?)  You can either see this as brilliant storytelling or MASSIVE FILLER.  Keep in mind that in Japan, this story arch is going to cost 50 bucks on DVD.  That's just sad.  I'm starting to agree with the majority of Haruhi fans I've been hearing from that are fed up with the deep dicking this series has given it's fans, from random schedule changes to unannounced episode releases to boats.

Only plus side is there was finally a change in this episode that was noticable.  First was the fact that we jumped 13 repeats into the "future", and the second is repeated references to images of planes.  Which leads me to believe my whole summer romance theory is about to be shot to hell, another point that does not endear me to the storytellers.

I'll be watching the next episode on 2X speed until something new happens.
