Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!! - Maybe There IS Such a Thing As Too Much Fanservice

Ippatsu started out like it might be an amusing gag anime with some needless fanservice and shallow characters.  Now, after episode 4, it's clear this is one of those series you hope your non-otaku friends don't get their hands on.  You keep watching it, but the whole time feels like this:

This show takes several boundaries I never wanted to cross and zips me past them at light speed.  Then, they take all the lines and scenes they knew they couldn't get away with in LATE NIGHT ANIME and throw them into the in-show anime that the lead watches, and that just makes me want to dry clean my memory.  There are two things about this show that really disturb me.  First, the female characters keep wetting themselves.  I don't think you have to grow up in the Bible Belt to find that disturbing.  The other is more personal.  Senta keeps whacking Plug with a baseball bat.  At first it was because she would sneak up on him.  Pretty soon it was done every time Senta was barely annoyed.  They extend this to Arresta, the other Charger Girl, who now gets off whenever she is hit with a bat.  Funny violence is funny, but the sickening real crack of the bat sound affect combined with actual injury to the characters really makes me sick when I watch it.  It borders on making light of domestic abuse.  This season has enough quality that I think I can skip the low brow show this time around.  Unless I'm in the mood to baseball bat my mind...
